Automated Data Testing Integrated Into CI/CD Framework

Situation

AF Group, the largest non-governmental specialty writer of workers' compensation insurance in the US, consume and process data from each of their 7 insurance brands. AF Group was manually testing their data pipelines and data warehouse; taking significant time and effort to execute their data quality assurance and testing. As they transitoned to a more agile DevOps model, they needed a solution for data quality assurance & control that could integrate into their CI/CD framework.

Impact

AF Group's testing practices for the data warehouse and BI were predominantly manual. As a result of data testing being manual, some data defects slipped through the cracks impacting the production systems. The manual testing is im pacting the scale and agility of project delivery
